Fish is great for losing weight but sometimes we want a traditional fish and chips and to me this is the next best thing.
Cod (However many it is to serve)
Wholemeal bread (I used 2 pieces of bread for 4 pieces of cod)
Break the bread in to 4 and put in to a blender or food processor to make breadcrumbs. This is best with bread that is a few days old rather than fresh.
Crack the egg in a bowl and mix with a dash of milk
Transfer the breadcrumbs on to a plate
Dip the cod in to the egg and then the bread crumbs and place on a baking tray.
Bake in the oven on gas mark 5 for 20 mins or until golden and fish is cooked throughly.
Serve with homemade oven chips and peas.
